A journey to discover what matters to me.
I'm fortunate to have a few acres, more tools than I probably need, enough ideas to keep me busy for several lifetimes, and the opportunity to think about what I want the next stage of my life to become.
I'm incredibly grateful for all of it.
I also don't have it all figured out.
That's kind of the point.
The name Havengard was created from a connection to my Viking and Germanic heritage and a desire for something that felt like more than just a name.
To me, Havengard means:
A haven worthy of guarding.
A place of refuge, belonging and peace. A place to care for the land, create things, spend time with people who matter, learn, laugh and explore what's possible.
Not a place to hide from the world.
A place to recognize, appreciate and protect the things that make life meaningful.
And perhaps to discover a few of those things along the way.
I've always been curious. I ask a lot of questions.
Can I grow this? Could I make that? Is there a better way? What if I tried this? Could this crazy idea actually work?
And increasingly, some bigger ones.
How do I want to spend my time? What do I want to create? What can I contribute? Who do I want to become?

Havengard Acres gives me a place to explore those questions by actually doing something about them.
Homestead
Growing food, raising animals, caring for the land and learning how to become a little more self-reliant.
Workshop
Woodworking, CNC, laser engraving, 3D printing, designing, repairing and the inevitable collection of tools required to make something I could probably have just bought.
Projects & Ideas
There are always things to make, problems to solve and ideas worth trying. Some will work. Some won't.
I'm interested in both.
Business
Some ideas may also have the potential to become businesses.
I'll explore them the same way I approach most things around here: ask questions, make something, try it, learn from what happens and decide what comes next.
Havengard Acres isn't about having everything figured out.
It's about being curious enough to ask questions and willing enough to see where the answers lead.
I'll share the projects, decisions, successes, mistakes and stories that happen along the way.
Not because I think I have the answers.
I'm sharing because I hope some of my questions will inspire you to ask your own.
Maybe you'll find something here that makes you curious. Maybe you'll try something you've always wanted to try. Or maybe you'll simply ask yourself a question you haven't asked in a while:
